Think is your writing partner over the full locker — questions, connections, and answers grounded in notes that already live on your machine.

Everyone has more notes than they can hold in their head. The breakthrough isn’t another blank chat window — it’s AI that can see your archive: the meetings, drafts, links, and voice captures you’ve already saved as markdown. Think is built for that: ask across everything you’ve locked away, and get answers that point back to the source.

You bring your own API key and choose the model — Grok by default, or OpenAI, OpenRouter, Ollama, and more. Markdown Locker doesn’t meter your tokens or trap your history in a vendor silo. The files stay local; the model is a tool you aim at them.

Think is a Pro feature, alongside live dictation and multi-model settings. Capture and Explore remain free so the locker can grow before you unlock the partner.

Locker chat

Ask in plain language. Think finds relevant notes and, with an API key, asks your chosen model to answer with that context. Without a key, you still get a local synthesis from search — lighter, still useful.

Citations

Answers can reference the notes they used. Open a citation to jump into Capture on that file. The point isn’t a black-box summary — it’s a trail back to what you actually wrote.

Your models

Gear icon → provider and model. Grok is first-class; OpenAI, OpenRouter, Ollama, and custom bases are available. Paste the key; usage is between you and the provider. See API keys.

What’s next

A companion with durable memory of your locker — not one-shot chat, but an assistant that already knows your projects, people, and threads. Connectors may follow so more of your world can inform that memory without giving up local files as the source of truth.

Identity

Optionally set your name and aliases so “I” and “my” in questions map to you. Identity stays on your Mac and is separate from Pro — changing plan doesn’t erase who you are in the app.
